In the morning, I log into the HMS network from my home office and check my emails and Teams channels. Then it’s time for the daily scrum. Depending on how full my calendar is, I might start coding right away or prepare for a meeting. In the afternoon, I’m either at the office or continue working from home.

My team stands out for its diverse skills and experiences. Some of my colleagues have been with the client for what seems like an eternity and know their way around virtually every corner of the business. Add to that the motivation of our younger colleagues, and the result is a truly dynamic mix.

I find working with my colleagues to be extremely enjoyable. I also really enjoy interacting with customers.

The biggest challenge is getting up to speed with ever-changing environments and technologies. In a client’s environment, there are very specific terms and approaches that you first have to understand in order to be truly helpful.

Currently, I'm working on development projects in the .NET and MATLAB environments, which can broadly be categorized as part of the ETL ecosystem. Previously, I also worked on SAS projects in the zOS and OpenVMS environments.

As part of a client project at an international financial institution, I am working with a small team to develop a customized ETL solution for economists and analysts. Technologically, the project is based on SQL Server and .NET, with MATLAB as the front end. In particular, the team spirit - which offers a healthy mix of years of experience and expertise - is a major source of motivation for me. What I enjoy most, however, is the dynamic exchange with the users, who, as power users, are not only end-users but also provide valuable feedback and are able to solve problems on their own.
